Final breakfast at Elks

The Casper Elks Lodge serves breakfast open to the public on Sundays from 8 to 11 a.m. This is the final breakfast for the year. Breakfasts will resume on Sept. 10.

High school rodeo

Rodeo is the only American sporting event that grew out of everyday living and ranching in Wyoming and Casper. Even before Wyoming was a state, there were rodeo activities.

This year’s Casper High School Rodeo will be held in the indoor Arena at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds, bringing over 200 contestants and their families to Casper. Events will start at 8 a.m. There is no charge for spectators.

AAUW spring conference

The 2017 Spring Conference of Wyoming Association of University Women (AAUW) is at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center, 800 N. Poplar Street. The event is for members and non-members, men and women. The sessions are designed to address the physical and mental health of women, core issues for addressing the theme “Valuing Our ‘Woman-ness’,” as protection against assault and sexual harassment. The Sunday activity will begin at 9:15 and involve the development and building of a Wyoming Tool Kit.

PFLAG meets

Help finalize plans for the Upcoming Casper Pride weekend. Come to the PFLAG (Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays) meeting at the United Church of Christ (15th and Melrose) to review Pride weekend plans and hopefully volunteer to help. The business meeting begins at 5 p.m., followed by a potluck dinner at 5:30. Pride planning will be from 6 to 7 p.m.

Rising Star sets recitals

Rising Star Tumbling and Dance Studio’s 33rd annual recitals are at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday at Restoration Church, 411 S. Walsh Dr. Each show is different. Cost is $5 per person per show, children under 2 are free.
