SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—Bennie Gonzales lost the battle to cancer February 4, 2019. He fought hard to be with his family. He made sure he let his family know how much he loved them. He was born in Casper, WY June 23, 1952 to Joe and Alice Gonzales.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe; son, Steve; his grandparents; and numerous family members.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Joedy, and Timothy; daughters, Tonya LaPlatney, Jennifer Sullivan, Katrina Sauer, and Tina Skowron; grandchildren, Karmen, Kalia, Kameron , Kiala, Xian, Jace, Brianna, Teila, Tiyana, Jack, Jasper, Jolene, Kaiden, Ashten, Treyson, Andrew, Miche, and Jaden; great-grandchildren, Taisa, Ozias, Isiah, and Dante; sisters, Jane Quintana, Agnes Oldaker, and Lisa Koch.
Bennie attended schools in Casper and enlisted in the Army. He was proud to serve his county as an Airborne Ranger and was honorably discharged.
Bennie worked at Casper Bakery with his uncle John Arellano as well as Coors Brewery, but his passion was his career in the Oil field. He worked his way up through the oil field as a young man. He was a company man and a tool pusher. Bennie worked for SST Drilling, Getty Oil, Laughlin Bros., and Cactus Corp.; just to name a few. Bennie was proud of the roll as the “boss”. Bennie took care of his family and was always the working man, but he did enjoy his time off! Bennie worked hard and played harder!
He loved his family, dancing, motor cycle riding, fishing, camping and playing pool. He was not perfect, but he was loved.
