CASPER—Betty Jean (Oliver) Bastian, age 89, of Casper, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 11:45pm. She was being cared for at Life Care Center in Casper, following a recent fall and poor health.
Betty was born December 18, 1929, on a farm in Rusk County, Texas; daughter to Tillman and Clara Oliver.
Betty was married for over 70 years to Jack Bastian. They married January 31, 1949 in Longview, Texas. During their married life they lived in several places in Texas, Montana, Oklahoma and the last 37 years in Casper, Wyoming.

Betty is survived by her husband, Jack Bastian of Casper, Wyoming; two children, Debra Smith (husband Paul) and Jack Bastian, Jr. (wife Debbie); grandchildren, Paul Sala (wife Christine), Jennifer Cornett (husband Alan), and Cody Bastian; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Tillie.
She was a fun loving friend, devoted wife and mother, and award winning interior decorator. She loved to play tennis, had a passion for cooking and was a member of Gourmet women’s group and PEO.
A Celebration of Life service may be held in Casper in the future.
