Larry George Meisinger, age 89, passed away after a brief illness at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper on Saturday, February 4, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Nebraska on August 22, 1927, the only child of Grace Mildred (Noyes) and Lawrence John Meisinger.
After graduating from Fort Collins High School in Colorado, he served in the U.S. Army from 1945 – 1947. He married Doris Niesent on November 16, 1947. They had four children, Dennis Lee, Leonard Lee, Lynnette and Donald Wayne. They divorced later, but always remained good friends.
Larry worked as a Highway Patrolman in Greeley, CO and then went to work for REA as a lineman. He was a member of IBEW in Cheyenne and then Casper. He served as Chairman of the E-Board many years for IBEW Local #322 and served on the Apprenticeship Committee.
In 1971 Larry retired from electrical work and bought a ranch south of Worland. He loved his life as a rancher. Health issues took him to live at the Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center in February, 2016. He remained there until his brief stay at the hospital in Casper.
Larry was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his four children, Dennis of Worland, Leonard of Casper, Lynnette of Sheridan, and Donald (Linda) of Chandler, AZ; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard Funeral Home.
A private service will be held this summer.
