A new endowment fund has been set up for Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, the organization announced recently.

The organization's board of directors set aside $50,000 to match donations made to the endowment fund this year. The Central Wyoming Hospice Endowment Fund and is being managed by the Wyoming Community Foundation.

The fund account acts similar to a community savings account, being a pool of assets generating income and growing over time, the announcement said.

The purpose of an endowment fund is to provide a stable, predictable source of income for nonprofit organizations. This source of income is the groundwork to allow the foundation to provide care indefinitely.

The partnership between the organization and Wyoming Community Foundation will "honor donors' wishes to build long-term assets that will help the community forever," according to the announcement.
