Natrona County voters head to the polls

Voters in Casper, Natrona County and across Wyoming will head to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in primary races. Here’s a rundown of the contested seats.

U.S. House race

The field for U.S. House is crowded, particularly on the Republican side. There, Heath Beaudry, Liz Cheney, Leland Christensen, Mike Konsmo, Paul Paad, Jason Adam Senteney, Darin Smith and Tim Stubson are vying to occupy Wyoming’s single House seat in Washington, which Cynthia Lummis is vacating. On the Democratic side, Ryan Greene and Charlie Hardy are competing for the seat. Voters may cast a ballot for one candidate.

Natrona County

In House District 37, Greg Flesvig is challenging incumbent Steve Harshman. In HD56, Donald Bellamy, Ronna Boril and Jerry Obermueller are vying for the seat Stubson vacated. In HD57, Chuck Gray and Ray Pacheco are competing for the seat Tom Lockhart is vacating. In HD58, Charles Schoenwolf and Pat Sweeney are challenging incumbent Tom Reeder. All are Republicans.

There are no contested legislative primaries on the Democratic side.

Local races

Five Republicans are on the ballot for the Natrona County Commission. Paul Bertoglio, Forrest Chadwick, Matt Keating, Tracy John Lamont and Bob Shellard are all seeking a four-year term. Two Democrats and one Constitution Party candidate will advance directly to the general election. On both primary ballots, voters may choose up to two candidates.

Fifteen names are on the ballot for the nonpartisan Casper City Council races.

In Ward 1, four people are seeking a four-year term on the council: Michael Forbes, Bob Hopkins, Amanda Huckabay and Daniel Sandoval. Voters may select up to two. Also in Ward I, R.C. Johnson, Jesse Morgan and Wayne Heili are seeking a two-year term. Voters may cast a ballot for one candidate.

In Ward 2, Ursula Wilkerson, Darin Crowell, Scott Miller, Todd Murphy and Charlie Powell are seeking a four-year term. Voters may select up to two candidates.

In Ward 3, Stephen Cathey, William Street and Christopher Walsh are seeking a four-year term. Voters may select one candidate.

In Evansville, Jory Delinger, Forrest Tobin and Doug White are vying for a four-year term on the town council. Voters may select up to two candidates.

In Mills, Sara McCarthy, Ruth Pitts and Ronald “Hunter” Wales are vying for a four-year term. Voters can select up to two candidates. Cecil Engels and Darla Ives are seeking a two-year term. Voters can select one.

In Bar Nunn, Josh Brown, Steven Clark and Preston Costley are vying for a four-year term. Voters may select up to two candidates.
