A Casper man pleaded not guilty to 13 felony charges alleging he sexually abused a 10-year-old over a period of months.
Stefan Voltaire, 37, entered his pleas Tuesday in Natrona County District Court. He otherwise spoke only to answer procedural questions.
Voltaire faces six counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, six counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of sexual exploitation of children.
Prosecutors allege Voltaire’s computers and cell phone contained hundreds of photos of the child naked in sexually explicit poses. Ten of the photos showed Voltaire engaged in sexual abuse of the child, according to court documents.
The case came to light when a person using Voltaire’s computer discovered nude photos of the girl on the device. The woman confronted Voltaire and told him she would contact law enforcement. He then threatened to kill himself, according to the documents.
When Casper police detectives interviewed Voltaire, he said he got the idea to create child porn from an online community he belonged to. He said he had created pornographic videos and photos of the child over the course of three months, according to documents.
Voltaire told police they could search his computers and cell phone where they found hundreds of pornographic photos of the child. The photos were created between June and February, according to the documents.
On Tuesday, Voltaire remained in custody in lieu of $100,000 cash.
