Casper police on Monday morning were investigating an apparent stabbing.

Sunday evening, police responded to the Rodeway Inn on Southeast Wyoming Boulevard for a report of a stabbing. A man was taken to Wyoming Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, Sgt. Joey Wilhelm said Monday.

The incident remains under investigation and there is no immediate threat to the public, Wilhelm said.

Although a police spokeswoman said Monday the stabbing was self-inflicted, she later retracted that statement and said she was mistaken.
