Metro Police Briefing

Police Sgt. Dan Dundas leads the morning shift change briefing in 2017 at Metro Coffee Co. in Casper.

Police on Wednesday will be in a pair of Casper coffee shops to visit with the general public.

The Casper Police Department is holding the two public-facing events as part of a nationwide effort born of national police week to connect police with the communities they serve.

Officers hope to better understand the expectations of Casperites, according to the department's Monday written statement. The agency is open to hearing concerns and feedback in order to continue to grow.

“It’s so important to us to know the people we serve,” said Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd. “We typically don’t have the privilege of getting to know everyone over a cup of coffee, as a friend. We hope that events like this give us that opportunity.”

Between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., officers will be at Blue Ridge Coffee on 4601 South West Wyoming Boulevard.

Between 5 and 6 p.m., police will be at Metro Coffee Company on 241 South David Street.
