According to Commander Matt Waldock, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation does not believe law enforcement officers fired their weapons during the chase. As of Tuesday, DCI had not determined whether Jacob fired at police, according to Special Agent Ryan Cox.

DCI — a statewide law enforcement agency that typically investigates shootings involving police officers — said Jacob was driving a stolen pickup.

The chase ended between the Center and Poplar Street exits on Interstate 25, where Jacob was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Cox said.
