Riverton authorities are investigating a suspected double homicide, according to a statement provided by the Riverton Police Department.

Police officers at 12:34 p.m. Saturday found two dead people in the 1100 block of Riverton’s East Main Street, according to a written statement provided Sunday by Capt. Todd Byerly.

In a statement provided Monday morning, Byerly identified the two people as Jocelyn Watt and Rudy Perez, both 30 and of Riverton.

According to the Sunday statement, they had “sustained injuries that resulted in their deaths,” although the nature of those injuries was not made clear.

On Saturday, Riverton police were also investigating a death in the 400 block of North Federal Boulevard. Police responded to the Federal Boulevard death about half an hour prior to the suspected double homicide.

A call log indicates the Federal Boulevard death was at least initially thought to be a suicide. Byerly said in the Monday statement the two incidents are thought not to be related.

Byerly wrote in the Monday statement no further information could be immediately released. He asked for anybody with information regarding the deaths to contact Riverton police at 307-856-4891.
