A semi-truck collided with three vehicles at a major Casper intersection on Tuesday night, sending one person to the hospital, police said.

Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash, which occurred at around 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Poplar and First streets.

The tractor-trailer was heading south on Poplar when it struck the other vehicles, said police Sgt. Mike Ogden. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Further details about the wreck were not immediately available.

Authorities temporarily closed the intersection after the crash, sending drivers on a sometimes long detour.
