A pedestrian was killed Monday night in Casper after being hit by a vehicle.

Police responded to the incident at 9:13 p.m. near the 4000 block of CY Avenue, according to a Tuesday morning announcement from the Casper Police Department. Casper Fire-EMS reported the man dead after emergency medical services attempted life-saving measures on him, according to the news release.

The collision happened at 9:10 p.m. just west of Wyoming Boulevard, according to a news release from the Natrona County Coroner's Office. The man's name will be released when next of kin have been notified, the announcement said.

Neither news release specified the type of vehicle.

A representative for the police department said Tuesday morning that no one else sustained substantial injuries in the collision. The coroner's office and police department are investigating the accident.
