Casper College

Students make their way to the student union on the campus of Casper College Tuesday, Jan, 22, 2019.

A Casper transplant who’s spent significant time in the energy industry was tapped last week to join the Casper College board of trustees, the school announced May 28.

Bill DeGraeve will fulfill the term of Suzanne Sandoval, who announced she was leaving in March because she was moving away from Casper. He will serve until 2020, when he can run for re-election.

“Bill is well-known for his commitment to our community and tireless energy he puts into everything he does,” Casper College’s board chairwoman, Kathy Dolan, said in a statement. “He is a great addition to the board, and we’ll benefit greatly from his leadership.”

DeGraeve is the director of drilling for True Drilling and previously worked for Conoco and First Choice Mitsubishi. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He serves in several local organizations.

“The college is a really important aspect to our community, and I look forward to being part of that,” DeGraeve said in a statement.
