It's a miracle nobody was killed. Actually, it's both a miracle, and good work by the employees at the Falcon natural gas station south of Pinedale.
This video shows the Falcon station on fire about midday on Dec. 6.
It's not yet clear why the station started on fire, although the flames are being fed by venting natural gas from the station, which is part of a system that collects and transports gas from the Jonah and Pinedale fields in southwest Wyoming.
As you can see from the video, which was submitted by a reader who works in the industry, the initial fire erupts into a column of fire (at 1:20 into the video) as additional natural gas stokes the flames.
Says my source: "It's the largest explosion I've seen where no one got killed. Lucky people at that job site."
