At approximately 3 a.m. Saturday morning Casper Fire-EMS was called to a structure fire on the 100 block of North Nebraska Street. There was light smoke inside the house and crews found an area near a fireplace enclosure burning.
The family was home but no injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for approximately an hour and a half, ensuring the fire was completely extinguished and ventilating the residence. The occupants were able to return home.
According to a press release, investigators determined that the fire was caused by wood paneling exposed to heat for a long period of time.
