A hunter found a body near Cody on Saturday, authorities said.

The victim is a resident of southeast Wyoming, and the death is being investigated as a homicide, according to a Park County Sheriff's Office announcement.

Park County sheriff's deputies, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and authorities from the Bureau of Land Management arrested a suspect in connection with the case on Saturday evening. That suspect, whom the sheriff's office did not identify, is in custody.

The announcement did not specify the nature of the charges or how and when the suspect was apprehended.

The body was found at 1:53 p.m. Saturday on private property south of Cody and west of Highway 120.

The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is now investigating the case.
