The Wyoming House of Representatives on Thursday approved a third and final reading of a bill that would establish a state historic site at the Quebec-01 missile alert facility north of Cheyenne.

Prior to passage, the House voted to amend the bill to allow local volunteer firefighters to store equipment and vehicles in a shed on the site.

The amendment was brought by Rep. John Eklund, R-Cheyenne, who said firefighters in the area are storing their vehicles on their own ranches.

Having passed the House, the bill plus amendment now goes back to the Senate for a concurrence vote.
