Laramie seniors Max DeYoung and Olivia McPherson competed at the 2019 Toyota United States Open Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday, representing Wyoming in the collection of worldwide talent.
DeYoung tied for 150th in the 50 freestyle by finishing in 24.39 seconds while McPherson tied for 117th in the 50 freestyle by swimming a timed 27.03 seconds.

Both of them are entered to return to the pool on Friday for more competition. McPherson is entered in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while DeYoung is entered in the 100 backstroke.
McPherson won the state championship in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle this past season.
Both signed to swim in college during the fall signing period with McPherson going to South Carolina and DeYoung staying in Laramie to swim for the Wyoming Cowboys.
