The Sho-Rap crews, made up of seasonal wildland firefighters from the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes on the Wind River Reservation, were formed in the late 1960s and until the early 2000s could muster at least 200 members to fight wildfires across the country. 

These photos of former members were collected by Robin Whiteplume while researching his book "Sho-Rap Highway."
