As an elected official at the county level, it is with pleasure that I strongly endorse Leland Christensen’s candidacy to become our next Wyoming State Treasurer. He brings the qualifications and background to best serve Wyoming going into the future and I consider it an honor to give this endorsement.
Leland worked as a lawman protecting the citizens of his county for 20-plus years. Retiring from that profession, he continued to be a steward for the people by serving as an elected county commissioner. In his position as a commissioner, he worked with myriad agencies from all types of disciplines who request funding to provide services to meet the needs of the local citizens. This budgetary knowledge and experience prepared him well for his next role as a Wyoming state senator. As state senator, he has helped shape our future in Wyoming with his vast knowledge, legislative ability and leadership.
I’ve served as an elected sheriff for three terms, now as a county commissioner for approximately 16 years and have served on many other boards, including our local Senior Citizen Center Board for the past 18 years. It has really been gratifying to have Leland as a knowledgeable resource to be able to reach out to whenever there has been a need. If there was a way to help, he provided it or was able to steer me to it. If it couldn’t be done, he was straightforward and told me so. Leland truly understands Wyoming and our needs.
I have heard there has been some criticism of Leland and, well, that is politics. It happens. But the man I know has the highest ethical and moral standards and values;. He strongly believes in family and the tradition that brings. As a former lawman, he is a stalwart in his continued support for our safety and the safety of our Country, for our Constitution and the rights provided therein by that great document. I strongly encourage you to give your support to Leland and to Wyoming and vote for him on August 21st.
