It’s no secret that Wyoming requires something extra from the people who choose to make this state home. We pride ourselves on being hardy, resourceful and tenacious. We need a leader who captures that spirit and inspires the rest of the state to do the same. Mark Gordon is that leader.
When he graduated from college, Mark chose to return to Kaycee to help his folks on their ranch. He was right there with the rest of us in the '80s when things were tough and we had to get lean. When there weren’t the kind of opportunities he was looking for as a young man, he stayed here. He made opportunities for himself rather than giving up and running off for greener pastures. I respect that.
People ask me why I’m voting for Mark and it’s sometimes hard to pick a reason. There’s certainly the experience in governing and his proven ability to enact meaningful, transparent changes for the benefit of Wyoming’s people. It’s also the fact that he’s just a good guy — he’s a family man and the kind of guy you can easily imagine sharing a cup of coffee with. But more than anything, it’s that I trust him at the helm because I know he’s got the steady hand and mental toughness to handle the unexpected.
And I for one want the kind of leadership that looks at challenges in the eye when the going gets tough, and digs deeper. That’s why I’m voting for Mark Gordon on August 21st and I hope you’ll join me.
