As Wyoming’s Governor race progresses, with Wyoming’s energy future as a hot topic, and candidate Sam Galeotos having a business background in renewable energy, it’s time to stop criticizing clean energy, and celebrate the progress already underway.

Clean energy is growing faster than most people realize. According to a new report released by Environment America, Wyoming has seen wind energy increase by 5-fold over the past decade, allowing electricity generated by wind and solar combined to power 409,000 homes. Wyoming ranks fourth among all US states for renewable electricity generation, with 26 percent of its power coming from wind and solar. With renewables rising in the state already, now is the time to accelerate the transition to renewable energy by implementing energy storage facilities, and increasing electricity efficiency standards.

I want to ensure a safe future for generations to come, and the best way we can do that is to protect their air, water, and land.

We have made incredible progress with renewable energy already. Why stop now?

Sincerely,

JACOB NAIMARK, Boston, Massachusetts
