House District 57 Republican candidates don’t have much in common. While Chuck Gray represents his district as the conservative he advertises to be, Daniel Sandoval has never had much enthusiasm for the Wyoming Republican Party’s planks, platforms and resolutions. Sandoval’s latest campaign strategy raises his indifference towards Natrona County Republicans to a new level.

This counterfeit Republican sent mailers out aimed directly at Natrona County Democrats urging them to leave the party and register as Republicans long enough to vote for him in the Republican primary, and after that they could vote “their preference”; him or some other Democrat. I suppose he’s still bitter about those ungrateful “grumpy” Republicans who led him to a third-place finish in the 2016 City Council election.

Sandoval is just the latest liberal to pose as a Republican in an effort to get a ticket to Cheyenne. Instead of urging Democrats to switch parties, maybe he should focus on moving the Wyoming Democratic Party a little to the right of Karl Marx, where they might become competitive again.
