Every now and again some genius in our state Legislature comes up with the idea of storing nuclear waste in Wyoming as a means of generating income. It was a bad idea the last time this came up and it still is. Simply because something generates money doesn’t, necessarily, make it a good thing.

I won’t waste your time quoting facts and figures because anyone with a smartphone can pull up “spent nuclear fuel rods” and find out for themselves the dangers involved with this material. The use of the word “temporary" in this proposal is incredibly misleading! In light of the dangers involved with the transport of these materials no one in their right mind is going to want to move this stuff more than once.

If it ever gets here, here it will stay. I find it disgraceful that someone claiming to care about Wyoming would want to turn it into a nuclear waste dump.
