First-year Casper College men's basketball coach Shaun Gutting has added Lester Stewart to his staff as an assistant coach.

Stewart was an assistant coach at the College of Southern Idaho last season. Prior to that, the Idaho State graduate coached high school basketball in Idaho for six years. He led Sho-Ban School in Fort Hall, Idaho, to the state tournament three times and was a two-time District 5 1A Division 2 Coach of the Year (2012-13).

Casper College men's basketball promotes Shaun Gutting to head coach

He replaces Gutting, who was an assistant for one year under Dan Russell before being named the Thunderbirds' head coach on May 22. Russell left to accept a job as an assistant coach at Montana State University.
