Casper College men's basketball completes 2-0 weekend


The 22nd-ranked Casper College men's basketball team held on for a 92-89 overtime victory against No. 13 Salt Lake Community College on Friday night in Salt Lake City. The Thunderbirds (3-0) then knocked off College of Southern Idaho 84-75 on Saturday as part of the Region IX/Region XVIII Challenge.

The game against SLCC was close throughout with neither team leading by more than six points. It was tied 39-all at the half and 82-all at the end of regulation, but Casper College sophomore guard David Walker scored eight of his game-high 22 points in overtime to lift the Thunderbirds (3-0).

Jalen Harris added 17 points and seven assists and Isaiah Banks had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds while dishing out four assists.

On Saturday, Walker again led the T-Birds in scoring with 21 points while Harris added 18 and Tavion Robinson chipped in 10.
