The Casper College men's basketball team was recognized in the National Junior College Athletic Association's first mid-season committee poll released on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds (11-1), after not being ranked coming into the season, are No. 15 in the poll.

Casper has already defeated No. 10 Salt Lake and the T-Birds' only loss came to No. 14 College of Southern Idaho, in the latest rankings.

The NJCAA released its preseason poll in October, which were the only rankings released until Tuesday. They will now be released weekly.

The T-Birds are No. 5 in the country in offense, averaging 105.3 points through 12 games. Isaac Bonton has emerged to lead the T-Birds with 18.9 points per game after Wilfried Likayi (17.3 points) was sidelined with a foot injury. Braxton Bertolette (13.9), Amin Adamu (12.1) and Broc Finstuen (11.0) also average double digits.

Casper hosts Miles Community College at Swede Erickson Thunderbird Gym on Thursday for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Sheridan College (11-0) also found its way into the Top 25, as the Generals went from unranked to No. 24 in the latest poll.
