Casper College's Isaac Bonton drives to the basket in the T-Birds' game against Gillette College on Feb. 6 at Swede Erickson Thunderbird Gym.

Casper College sophomore point guard Isaac Bonton was honored as a second-team All-America by the National Junior College Athletics Association on Monday.

The 6-foot-3 Bonton averaged 21.4 points and 5.6 assists per game in helping the Thunderbirds to a 32-3 record and a No. 6 national ranking.

Bonton averaged 26.0 points, including scoring a season-high 41 points in a semifinal victory over Western Nebraska Community College to lead the T-Birds to the Region IX championship for the first time in 23 years. He had a game-high 30 points in the T-Birds’ season-ending loss to Cleveland State in the NJCAA Division I Championships.

Bonton was a first-team all-Region IX selection and shared Region IX Player of the Year honors with Western Nebraska point guard Jervay Green, who was also a second-team All-America selection.

Bonton is the first Casper College men’s player to earn second-team All-America honors since Remi Dibo in 2013. Point guard Deante Strickland was an honorable mention selection for the T-Birds last season.

Also Monday, Casper College sophomore Lucie Hoskova earned honorable mention All-America honors.

The 5-10 wing led the T-Birds with averages of 17.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Hoskova was a two-time all-Region IX selection. She is the program’s first All-America honoree since Kendyl Nunn was a third-team selection in 2013-14.
