The Casper College women’s basketball team used a balanced attack Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Region IX tournament at Swede Erickson Thunderbird Gym.

The 13th-ranked T-Birds (29-2) improved to 16-1 at The Swede with a 75-60 victory over Lamar Community College.

Ashlie Larson had a game-high 11 points for the T-Birds and Natalia Panufnik added 10. Emily Robertson (Natrona County) had nine points and 10 rebounds, with Paula Orenes Sanchez, Lucie Hoskova and Nerea Baena had seven points apiece.

Casper College led 31-20 at the half and blew the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Lamar 28-14.

The T-Birds played Miles Community College, a 74-53 winner over Eastern Wyoming College, in Friday’s late semifinal game.
