Two weeks after making a season-high 24 3-pointers in a 103-69 win at Eastern Wyoming College, the Casper College women's basketball team struggled to find the hoops Wednesday night at Swede Erickson Thunderbird Gym. As a result, Eastern Wyoming handed the T-Birds the first sub-region loss of the season, 78-67.

The T-Birds (21-6, 10-1 Region IX North) were just 6 of 32 (18.8 percent) from behind the arc and 25 of 70 (35.7 percent) overall.

Casper College still led 33-32 at the half before the Lancers (21-6, 8-3) took the lead for good in the third quarter.

Lucie Hoskova and Nerea Baena both had double-doubles for the T-Birds, with Hoskova scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds and Baena 12 points and 12 boards. Jaye Johnson added 10 points.

The Lancers had four players finish with double-digit points, led by Paula Martinez Sanz's game-high 26.

Casper College plays at Northwest College on Saturday.
