Casper College women's basketball suffers first loss at Western Nebraska

The 18th-ranked Casper College women's basketball team was outscored 44-34 in the second half in a 78-70 loss to No. 15 Western Nebraska Community College on Tuesday in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The Thunderbirds (7-1) led 23-13 after the first quarter, but was unable to contain WNCC's Tishara Morehouse, who finished with a game-high 34 points. The Cougars (8-0) also made 24 of 26 free throws while the T-Birds were 16-of-24.

Juneau Jones had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Casper College, with Marija Bakic adding 21 points and Natalia Otkhmezuri chipping in 16. The T-Birds play at Miles (Montana) Community College on Saturday.
