The University of Wyoming men’s rodeo team put together a dominating performance over the weekend to easily win the Rustler Roundup at Central Wyoming College in Riverton.

The Cowboys won all three timed events in totaling 855 points to move to the top of the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings after three rodeos. Seth Peterson and Ty Everson finished 1-2 in steer wrestling, with Jase Staudt taking the tie-down roping title and Caden Camp and JC Flake winning the team roping.

Host CWC was a distant second with 390 points, followed by defending regional champ Sheridan College with 340.

Chadron State College cowboys won two events with Kyle Bloomquist taking the bareback bronc riding and Miles Englebert the bull riding. Sheridan College’s Lane Schuelke placed first in saddle bronc riding.

On the women’s side, defending champ Gillette College won the team title with 375 points to finish just ahead of runner-up Casper College with 340.

For the Pronghorns, Brooke Howell finished atop the breakaway roping standings and Taylour Latham won the goat tying. Casper College’s Makenna Balkenbush won the barrel racing.

The CRMR season continues this weekend in Lamar, Colorado, with the Lamar Community College Rodeo.
