Bryce Waters, a University of Wyoming signing that will join the Cowboys for the upcoming fall season, will first participate in the U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C., which starts Monday morning.

The Cowboy signing secured one of two automatic qualifying spots for the tournament last month at the Odessa, Texas, qualifying tournament. Waters previously spent two years playing at Odessa Community College.

Waters is scheduled to tee off at 5:46 a.m. Mountain Time on Monday. He's one of 312 golfers who will play 36 holes, at which point the filed will be trimmed down to 64 for match play. The tournament will then run from Wednesday-Saturday.
