Freshman Tyler Severin shot a career-best 70 to tie for 18th in the final round of the BYU Ping Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah, to lead lead the University of Wyoming men’s golf team to an eighth-place finish on Saturday. The Cowboys finished with an aggregate 871.

Junior Dan Starzinski, who led the Cowboys on Friday, finished a stroke behind Severin and tied for 22nd. That was his eighth Top 25 finish in 12 tournaments so far this season.

Senior John Murdock tied for 30th, freshman Kirby Coe-Kirkham tied for 67th and sophomore Carl Underwood finished 90th to round out the Cowboys’ scoring. Wyoming freshmen Jared Edeen (tied for 30th) and Jimmy Dales (tied for 60th) competed individually and unattached from the team.

Wyoming next competes at the Mountain West Championships, which begin on Friday at the OMNI Tucson National in Tucson, Arizona.
