Saturday's scheduled match between the University of Wyoming and Montana at the UW indoor tennis courts has officially been canceled after a blizzard hit Wyoming this week, the UW athletic department announced Thursday afternoon.
As of Thursday morning, Laramie had received 8-12 inches of snow as part of the "bomb cyclone," according to the National Weather Service. Laramie remained in a blizzard warning until 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Cowgirls would have taken a five-game winning streak into this weekend's match against the Grizzlies, which was scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
Instead, the Cowgirls take a two-week break before beginning Mountain West play against New Mexico on March 29 in Laramie. That match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
