University of Wyoming senior Taylor Burton was named a third-team selection for the United Soccer Coaches Association's NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-America Team on Friday. Burton is just the third player in program history to receive the honor.

The last Cowgirl to receive such an honor from the USCA was Lori Scheider in 2003.

Burton, a two-time academic all-conference selection as well, is on pace to graduate with a current 3.473 GPA and a degree in elementary education.

The Colorado native was previously also tabbed First-Team All-Pacific by the USCA, in addition to being named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.
