Both Wyoming track and field teams found success in California over the weekend, most notably with distance runner Jonah Henry finishing fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, California, late Friday.

Henry finished in a time of 9 minutes, 27.11 seconds for the Cowboys' best finish of that meet. Hammer-throwers Kirk Unland (21st), Hap Frketich (29th) and Eric McArthur (45th) also competed in Long Beach for the Cowboys. Cowgirls Emelda Malm-Annan (ninth), Anna Gillis (48th) and Addison Henry (67th) also competed in the hammer throw there.

Kiah Leonard led the Wyoming distance runners competing at the Mt. SAC Relays late Thursday in Torrance, California. Leonard ran a 36:07.09 in the 10,000 to finish sixth while teammate Addi Iken ran a 36:49.77 to finish 15th. Both of those marks were personal bests. Paul Roberts was the only Cowboy runner to run the 10,000 there and finished 23rd.
