Several members of the Black 14 returned to War Memorial Stadium to be honored with a commemorative plaque Friday. In October 1969, the 14 football players were removed from the University of Wyoming team for wanting to protest racial injustice by wearing black armbands in an upcoming game against Brigham Young University. During a dinner following the unveiling, University of Wyoming athletic director Tom Burman issued a formal apology to the Black 14.
