UW vs San Jose State

Wyoming running back Jevon Bigelow tries to avoid San Jose State's Tre Webb during their game last season at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

LARAMIE -- Running back Jevon Bigelow has left the University of Wyoming football program for personal reasons, the team announced Monday.

Bigelow was third on the team in rushing yards (292) and carries (69) as a true freshman in 2018. He ran for two touchdowns and appeared in 10 games.

“We wish him well in his future, and we wish his family well,” head coach Craig Bohl said in a press release.

The Fresno, California, native had three games with more than 50 yards rushing in 2018 (55 at New Mexico State, 56 at Missouri and 58 vs. San Jose State).

The Cowboys' leading rusher in 2018, Nico Evans, has exhausted his eligibility. Xazavian Valladay ranked second on the team with 396 yards and three touchdowns on 71 carries.

UW said it would have no further comment on Bigelow's departure.
