UW vs Wofford

Fans greet the Wyoming Cowboys as they take the field for their game against Wofford at War Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2018.

LARAMIE — Wyoming has finalized its football schedule for the 2019 season, which includes a pair of games against teams that finished last season ranked in the top 25.

The Cowboys’ non-conference slate is highlighted by a season-opening matchup Aug. 31 against SEC foe Missouri, which will be making its first-ever trip to War Memorial Stadium. The Tigers, who defeated Wyoming 40-13 last season, finished the season at No. 23 in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

Game times will be announced at a later date.

Wyoming will also host Idaho (Sept. 14) and travel to Tulsa (Sept. 21) and Texas State (Sept. 7) in the non-conference before opening Mountain West play at home against UNLV on Sept. 28. The Cowboys’ league slate is highlighted by a trip to defending Mountain Division champion Boise State on Nov. 9, which came in at No. 25 in the final CFP rankings.

New Mexico (Oct. 19) and Nevada (Oct. 26) will also visit War Memorial Stadium. Wyoming will conclude its home league slate with the 111th edition of the Border War against Colorado State on Nov. 23. Other MW road trips for Wyoming include San Diego State (Oct. 12), Utah State (Nov. 16) and Air Force (Nov. 30).

The MW championship game will be played Dec. 7. The division champion with the better league record will host the game.

Wyoming won its final four games to finish 6-6 last season, but was not invited to a postseason bowl game for the first time in three seasons.
