LARAMIE -- Wyoming will have at least one representative in next year's Senior Bowl.
Defensive end Carl Granderson on Thursday accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl, the nation's premier showcase event for select seniors and fourth-year juniors. The 70th annual Senior Bowl will be played Jan. 26, 2019 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, and be televised on the NFL Network.
Granderson has been one of the Mountain West's top defensive linemen the last two seasons, racking up 117 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks during that time. His best season came in 2017 when the 6-foot-5, 255-pounder had 77 tackles and a team-best 9.5 sacks on his way to first-team all-MW honors.
He's got 172 tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks for his career.
Safeties Andrew Wingard and Marcus Epps are also on the watch list for the game, which will be comprised of 110 players making up the North and South rosters. Rosters will be announced on Jan. 16.
Former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen played in this year's game before going to the Buffalo Bills with the No. 7 overall pick to become the highest-drafted player in school history. Wyoming has had 26 players in the game all-time.
