Wyoming vs Boise State Basketball

Former Wyoming guard Cody Kelley celebrates with teammates after the Cowboys defeated Boise State on Jan. 6 at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie.

Former University of Wyoming guard Cody Kelley confirmed to the Star-Tribune on Thursday that he will transfer to South Dakota. Kelly had also been offered by North Dakota and Northern Colorado.

The Gillette native, who is still on schedule to graduate in May, announced his intentions to transfer from Wyoming in a press release on April 10. Kelley will be a graduate transfer by the time he joins South Dakota and will have two years of eligibility.

Kelley started in 23 of Wyoming's 33 games in the 2017-18 season and averaged 5.2 points per game.

South Dakota went 26-9 last season, including an appearance in the Summit League Championship game.

Kelley is one of five players from the 2017-18 Wyoming team who have chosen to transfer with eligibility remaining. Anthony Mack is transferring to Miami, while the destinations of Andrew Moemeka, Buddah Jones and Sam Averbuck are not known.
