The University of Wyoming women's basketball team extended its winning streak to eight games Wednesday with a 64-49 victory at UNLV.

The Cowgirls (17-5, 10-3 Mountain West) outscored the Rebels by a combined 40-16 in the second and third quarters after the first quarter ended with the teams tied at 13-all.

Senior Marta Gomez had a game-high 23 points along with a team-best seven rebounds. Bailee Cotton added 12 points while Karla Erjavec and Taylor Rusk pitched in nine apiece.

The Cowgirls host Border War rival Colorado State on Saturday at the Arena-Auditorium.
