University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame member Steven Suder passed away Wednesday, the university said in a release.

Suder wrestled for the Cowboys from 1975-79, earning All-America honors in 1979. Later, as coach of the Cowboys (1989-2008), Suder led the program to two Western Athletic Conference titles and 127 dual wins, which is the second-most in program history.

A four-time WAC coach of the year, Suder was inducted into the UW Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.

"The Wyoming wrestling family is in pain and heartbroken," UW head wrestling coach Mark Branch said. "Coach Suder was a legend at UW as both a wrestler and a coach, but his impact was so much greater than the sport of wrestling."
