The University of Wyoming men's and women's cross-country teams will compete in the NCAA Mountain Region Championships on Friday in Provo, Utah.

The Cowboys are currently ranked No. 18 in the nation and No. 6 in the Mountain Region after a fourth-place finish at the Mountain West Championships two weeks ago.

Junior Paul Roberts won the MW Championships, with Christopher Henry (Laramie) finishing ninth and Harry Ewing 11th.

“This is a group of guys that are really binding together,” men’s cross-country coach Scott Dahlberg said in a release. “They’ve been putting in some tremendously hard work, and I think it’s coming together right now in a good fashion."

The Cowgirls, who finished eight at the MW Championships, are led by freshman Katelyn Mitchem and juniors Ashley Bock and Kacey Doner.

The women's 6k begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men's 10k at noon.
