University of Wyoming senior Erin Sargent tees off Monday in West Point, Mississippi, in the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur.

Sargent is one of 156 golfers who will play 18 holes on both Monday and Tuesday, with the top 64 then advancing to stroke play on Wednesday.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to participate in this tournament and especially to represent Wyoming is an honor,” Sargent said in a press release. “I’m really looking forward to it. We play on some of the most beautiful and well-maintained courses.”

The Longmont, Colorado, native recently finished second at both the Wyoming and Colorado State Amateur Championships.
