The University of Wyoming men's cross country team was selected second in the Mountain West preseason coaches' poll released Thursday, while the women's team was picked for eighth.

The Cowboys received two first-place votes and 54 overall to finish behind Boise State, which garnered 61 votes.

Wyoming is led by seniors Paul Roberts, Christopher Henry (Laramie), Harry Ewing and Daniel Hintz. Roberts is the defending MW champion while Henry and Ewing both earned All-MW honors last season.

The Cowgirls received 38 votes, with New Mexico grabbing 10 first-place votes and 100 points. UW returns its top three finishers from last year's MW Championships in seniors Katelyn Mitchem, Ashley Bock and Kacey Doner.
