Wyoming junior Cole Verner was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week on Monday.

Verner, a two-time state champ at Green River, upset fifth-ranked Zeke Moisey of Nebraska in their 125-pound match Sunday in Laramie. Verner trailed Moisey 2-1 after the first period, but tied the match with an escape and won it with a last-second takedown.

Verner is 7-3 on the season and 2-1 in duals heading into Sunday's match against No. 4 Oklahoma State.
