The University of Wyoming soccer team was tabbed fifth in the preseason Mountain West coaches poll released Tuesday.

The Cowgirls, who tied New Mexico for the MW regular season title last year, and UNLV both had 70 points in the voting by the league's coaches.

Boise State was selected as the favorite with 109 points, including four first-place voters. The Broncos were followed by 2018 MW tournament champ San Jose State with 105 points, New Mexico (104) and San Diego State (96).

Pete Cuadrado is 66-55-19 overall and 36-28-8 in MW play as he begins his eighth season as the Cowgirls' head coach.

Wyoming hosts Colorado FC in an exhibition match at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Louis S. Madrid Complex. The Cowgirls open the regular season Aug. 22 at UTEP.
